Former two division world champion Tomasz Adamek (44-2, 28 KOs) was an interested viewer of last Saturday's exciting heavyweight fight between WBA "regular" beltholder Alexander Povetkin and WBO cruiserweight king Marco Huck. The bout, which took place in Stuttgart, saw Povetkin win a close twelve round majoirty decision.
A lot of experts scored the fight in favor of Huck, and Adamek was one of them. Povetkin started very strong in the contest, but faded in the later rounds and took punishment. Adamek feels Povetkin suffered from stamina issues due to his poor conditioning.
"Huck won the fight with Povetkin. Marco was landing a lot of punches on a fighter, who after the fourth round didn't have any strength. I doubt Povetkin underestimated him - rather, he was too heavy and he really shouldn't have weighed that much, because he's smaller than me. This was not the same boxer [that we've seen in previous fights]," Adamek told Ring Polska.
