BELL, CALIF. --- Mexican legend Juan Manuel Marquez fought many of the fights early in his career at The Forum in Inglewood, Calif., which is the site of his fight against Mike Alvarado on Saturday night on HBO.
Alvarado knows Marquez has always been a favorite of the fans in Southern California. Marquez fought 12 times at The Forum from 1995-99 and went 12-0 with nine KOs.
"That's a huge thing for him, too," Alvarado said at the Azteca Boxing Club. "He's going to be real comfortable in there. I've kind of experienced that fighting (Brandon) Rios out here in the first one. I was able to go through that kind of experience and that kind of atmosphere. You know, I've never let the atmosphere get to me like that."
