Callum Simpson and Troy Williamson came in under the 168lbs limit ahead of their bout in Leeds on Saturday.

British, Commonwealth and European champion Simpson, won of Boxxer’s flagship fighters, will defend his crowns on the BBC in the UK against a resurgent Williamson, who upset touted local rival Mark Dickinson in his last fight.

Simpson is ranked in the top 15 of all four governing bodies, including sitting at No. 5 in the WBC at an interesting time given Terence Crawford has retired. The No. 1 is Osleys Igelsias, the No. 2 spot is empty, No. 3 in Canelo Alvarez, No4 is Jaime Munguia, Simpson is next and Hamzah Sheeraz is No. 6.

Williamson, from Darlington, is 21-4-1 (15 KOs) and says he’s a completely different proposition since moving up from middleweight.

Simpson, from Barnsley, is 18-0 (13 KOs), and is having his fourth fight of a fruitful 2025 with wins over Steed Woodall, Elvis Ahorgah, and Ivan Zucco.

Williamson came in at 167.5lbs, while Simpson was 167.75lbs.

Tomorrow’s card was hurt today by the withdrawals of American Blair Cobbs and Frankie Stringer.

Simpson and Williamson, who fight at the First Direct Arena, shared a long face off at the weigh-in but the build-up has been filled with a healthy mutual respect.

Also on the bill, 15-0 (5 KOs) super middleweight Tom Rafferty weighed 167lbs for his six-rounder against the 3-4 Lewis Howells, who weighed 171.25lbs.

For a bout between 5-0 welterweight Lewis Ward and 4-0 Jake Jon Cleary, Ward weighed 144.25lbs and Cleary was 146.9lbs.

Boxxer are excited about middleweight prospect Sam Hickey. The 3-0 (1 KO) Scot faces Slovenian Aljaz Venko, who weighed 158.75lbs and Hickey, towering over his opponent, tipped the scales at 158.9lbs.
