WBC 154-pound champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (41-0-1, 30KOs) is very eager to prove himself against tougher and more dangerous opponents. He gets his chance on April 20th in San Antonio, when he takes on WBA champion Austin Trout (26-0, 14KOs) in a Showtime televised unfication showdown.

"I have to be honest, I never imagined that I would have so much public recognition and be so young when making five defenses of my title. I enjoy what I do with my team and I assume all of the challenges in the best way possible," said Canelo.

"I've matured a lot and my fights have made me grow up. I'm very happy. If we review fights back then when I was first crowned champion, I think I've come a long way as a fighter, I'm more settled and more complete in all respects. I'm really enjoying this stage of being a world champion, I have fulfilled many of my dreams and it is a great pleasure for me to be a strong champion for the World Boxing Council."

"We know, as a team, that there are still many challenges to come, but we are on the right track with the right work and discipline to meet each challenge."
