Cancun, Mexico - The main event was a toe to toe battle with Pablo Cesar Cano (25-1-1, 19KOs) defeating previously undefeated Johan Perez (15-1-1, 12KOs) to win the interim-WBA super lightweight title by majority decision with scores of 68-65, 68-65 and 67-67. The fight was stopped early due to a cut over the right eye of Pablo Cesar Cano.

In round seven, in the heat of the battle, Cano and Perez clashed heads and Pablo suffered a huge cut over his right eye, prompting the referee, by the recommendation of the doctor, to stop the fight.

"It is a dream come true, this is what I always wanted. I can't believe it..I am a world champion now," said the new champion Cano.

The fight was promoted by Golden Boy Promotions and Pepe Gomez of Cancun Boxing.
