Lightweight boxer Charlie Sheehy has signed a “long-term” promotional deal with Matchroom Boxing, reuniting him with the promoter whose card he turned pro on five years ago.

Sheehy, 12-0 (7 KOs), of Brisbane, California is expected to have his first fight as part of the deal this summer, with Matchroom head Eddie Hearn saying it will be his first ten-round fight.

Sheehy, 27, last fought in November knocking out D’Angelo Keyes in six rounds in Fresno, California - the same city where he made his debut in 2021 on the undercard of Mikey Garcia vs. Sandor Martin.

“I made my pro debut with Matchroom five years ago and always felt it was where I belonged,” said Sheehy, who is managed by Peter Kahn, while his training team includes Javiel Centeno, Mike Bazzel and Bruno Escalante. “I believe in this platform and my team. Now, it's time to prove I belong on the world stage.

Prior to turning pro in 2021, Sheehy was a standout amateur, representing the United States internationally in tournaments in Spain, France and Bulgaria.

“Charlie is a fantastic addition to the stable,” said Hearn. “With his impressive amateur standing and solid base in the pro game, he’s ready to kick on now to start making moves and getting himself into the rankings and in range to make some real noise at 135lbs.
