CompuBox: Lara Landed 56% of Power on Angulo

Angulo had no answers to Lara's straight left. That was the reason he lost the fight and in the way that he did.

Angulo can't stop a straight left to save his life.

I didn't see that type of stoppage coming (broken orbital bone/quitting) but I saw a late stoppage coming for Lara. Lara was landing too many power shots and was very accurate. I respect Angulo's come forward style and his brawling style but I hope that is not the strategy he thinks is going to continue to work. He learned a hard lesson Saturday. Lara proved his mettle getting up from those monster knockdowns and deserved the win. He was still ahead in the fight too even with those in my eyes. Angulo disgraced himself though with those BS excuses afterwards about mystery thumbs and that the ref stopped it and he didn't quit. Angulo turned his back and QUIT, period. No disrespect but video does not lie. He gave up and did not want to continue with the injury. As tough as he is, he did continue in a situation where others like Abraham and Paulie did, with severe injuries too. Also many others. Angulo better change his style or he will be drinking through a straw for the rest of his life.

Wrong. 1. They were using thumbless gloves. Although these gloves can still cause injury to the eye itself, broken orbitals (sure looks like that's what happened from the post-fight pics) can only be caused by the blunt force of a punch or a head ****. This was obviously the result of a punch. One of many that Angulo absorbed in the fight. 2. Defend yourself at all times. If punches are continually landing in your face...you're not defending yourself very well.
