Welterweight contender Mike Alvarado was not ready to fight in his trilogy encounter and Brandon Rios took full advantage from the opening bell.  Rios landed an average of 40 punches per round, while Alvarado landed 20 punches the entire fight! The ringside doctor had seen enough after taking Alvardo took a beating for three rounds and  stopped the contest before the start of the fourth.
