Elijah Garcia won a split decision in a ten-round middleweight fight on Saturday night at the Michelob Ultra Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Garcia, who survived a first round knockdown, threw more than Gausha (738 to 542) but landed fewer (189 to 154), which reflected in his lower total connect percentage (20.9 to 34.9 percent). Garcia and Gausha both landed over 20 punches each in the seventh and tenth rounds, with Gausha never landing below 20 percent of his punches in any round and Garcia never landing more than 27.4 percent in any round. The total number of power punches landed was the closest metric, with Gausha landing slightly more at 135 of 319 connects, only seven of which were body shots, while Garcia landed 131 of 481 attempts, 103 of which were body punches.
