Mikaela Mayer retained her WBO welterweight title on Saturday night, defeating Sandy Ryan by unanimous decision in Las Vegas. Mayer threw more and landed more than her opponent, connecting on 178 of 516 attempts for a 34.5 percent rate, while Ryan was credited with landing 146 of her 377 attempts (38.7 percent) over the ten round distance.
While Ryan had a slight advantage in landed jabs (39 to 31), Mayer made her mark with power punching, landing 147 to 107 from Ryan.
