Alycia retained her undisputed junior lightweight championship Friday at Madison Square Garden with a unanimous decision victory over unbeaten but untested Spaniard Jennifer Miranda.
The combatants were separated by more than three or fewer landed punches in eight of the 10 rounds. Baumgardner was slightly more accurate, connecting on 28 percent of her punches while Miranda connected on 25 percent. Miranda landed one more punch than Baumgardner. The judges scored the fight 98-92 (twice) and 97-93 – all for Baumgardner.
