Undefeated Cuban Olympian Dainier “The Fear” Pero will take on Arizona's Cesar Navarro, 13-2 (11 KOs), in a 10-round heavyweight contest at the Caribe Royale Resort in Orlando, Florida on May 9. The bout will be the main event of Most Valuable Promotions’ "Most Valuable Prospects 12."

Pero, 10-0 (8 KOs), who is promoted by Boxlab Promotions, has featured on Most Valuable Prospects 5, 6, 7 and 10, most recently knocking out Walter Burns in the first round in December.

The co-main event will feature Orlando's own Corey “2Smoove” Marksman in an eight-round lightweight contest against undefeated Taylor “The Butcher” Beltran, 10-0-1 (5 KOs).

Marksman, 10-0-1 (7 KOs), recently appeared on the undercard of MVP co-founder Jake Paul's PPV bout with Mike Perry, where Marksman scored a majority decision win in a rematch with Tony Aguilar, with whom he had fought to a draw in February 2024.

"Most Valuable Prospects continues to be the ultimate proving ground for the next generation of boxing superstars to showcase their skills, and this card is stacked with serious talent ready to make their mark,” said Nakisa Bidarian and Jake Paul, co-founders of MVP, in a statement to announce the fights.

“Dainier Pero has been on a dominant run, and defending his WBA Continental USA heavyweight title against a dangerous opponent like Cesar Navarro is exactly the kind of test that will push him to the next level. In the co-main, Corey Marksman and Tayden Beltran are two undefeated young killers, and only one of them is leaving with that zero intact on Friday, May 9 Thank you to Boxlab Promotions and DAZN for sharing our vision and giving these rising stars the platform to shine."
