In his recent video interview with BoxingScene.com/Bokser.org, British heavyweight champion Derek Chisora (13-0, 8 KOs) called IBF/WBO #1 heavyweight Alexander Povetkin (19-0, 14 KOs) “a bum”. “I don’t like him”, said Chisora. “Plain and simple – I don’t know him personally but I don’t like him”.
After this Saturday’s night, when WBO #1 cruiserweight Denis Lebedev (21-0, 16 KOs) blasted out WBO #2 Alexander Alekseev in two rounds, Vladimir Hryunov, manager of both Povetkin and Lebedev (as well as of highly rated and also undefeated bantamweight Alexander Bakhtin), fired some harsh words back to Chisora in his interview with BoxingScene/Bokser.
“Lebedev’s promoter Frank Warren phoned me a couple of minutes ago to congratulate on Denis victory tonight. I asked Frank to help stage us a fight with one lad who doesn’t like Sasha Povetkin”, said Hryunov. “Derek Chisora, I don’t like you, man. I want you to take on Denis Lebedev. Derek, if you hear me, give me a call back. The weight limit doesn’t mean anything in some cases. Chisora is our client”.
