WBC Silver minimumweight champion Denver "The Excitement" Cuello (31-4-6, 21 KOs) will be defending his title in Mexico this Saturday, September 29, at the Auditorio del Bicentenario in Morelia, Michoacán de Ocampo against challenger Ivan Meneses (18-10-1, 10 KOs).

Cuello has been training hard and hitting his peak at the right time. "I'm already in great share and on schedule with my weight, since I've been training for a while now," Cuello told dSourceBoxing.com correspondent Chito Katangkatang. Meneses will also serve as a tune-up fight for the 25-year-old Ilonggo, who will challenge the winner of the WBC minimumweight title fight in China on Oct. 27th between Xiong Zhao Zong and Javier Martinez.

"If Meneses is in good shape, I think he still won't make it past 6 rounds," Cuello confidently said. "But if I connect in the first round, I intend to finish him in the first, but if I hit him in the second, he may last until the third," he added.

Cuello derives his confidence from things he and his trainers and manager Aljoe Jaro have picked up on Meneses through scouting the Mexican's previous fights. Cuello also said thah he plans to head to China together with Jaro for the Zhao Zong-Martinez bout after winning this weekend.
