Dereck Chisora reacted as you might expect when the combustible contender was asked if he plans to box more in his heavyweight rematch against Dillian Whyte.

Chisora scoffed at the suggestion he should brawl less with Whyte when they meet again Saturday night at O2 Arena in London. Their first encounter was a candidate for “Fight of the Year” in 2016, and Chisora expects their rematch to become something similar.

“Boxing is for p*ssies,” Chisora told BoxingScene.com following an open workout Wednesday in London. “I want a war! War! War! War! I wanna take it throwback. If I come boxing, man, I’m not an amateur. I’m not fighting for a gold medalist here. I want no mercy, seek and destroy, destroy this guy. You know, it’s wipe the floor with him, you know, beat him up. You know, pound and pound and pound and pound and pound. That’s what I want.”

Whyte (24-1, 17 KOs) beat Chisora (29-8, 21 KOs) by split decision in the initial battle between these London-based boxers. Two judges – Howard John Foster (115-113) and Michael Alexander (115-114) – scored that bout for Whyte, while Steve Gray had Chisora in front following 12 rounds (115-114).

The last thing Chisora wants is for this rematch to go the cards the way their first fight did in December 2016.

“I’m going to go straight at him and I know he’s going to come hard, too,” Chisora said. “He’s not going to shy away from a fight. He knows what’s happening. I’d advise everybody not to sit down at the O2 Arena.”

The 34-year-old Chisora, a native of Zimbabwe, is confident he’ll win their rematch because his new promoter, David Haye, helped him prepare properly.

“We’ve trained hard for this fight,” Chisora said. “There’s only one way we’re going to go into this fight. We are going to war right from the get-go. I’m going to run over to his side and start pounding him down. I hope he’s listening. I’m going to pound you and pound you and pound you. It doesn’t matter what he’s done. He can’t hurt me. He doesn’t have a powerful shot that can bother me. I’m going to find this guy, hunt him down and beat him up.”

Showtime will air the Whyte-Chisora rematch live in the United States (5 p.m. ET/2 p.m. PT). It’ll be the main event of a Sky Sports Box Office pay-per-view card in the United Kingdom (£19.95; 6 p.m. GMT).
