Ebanie Bridges and Raquel Miller are set to resume their careers on a card already filled with legendary boxing talent.
The balance of the Amanda Serrano-Erika Cruz II undercard was confirmed by Most Valuable Promotions (MVP). The abovementioned talents will be featured as part of the January 3 DAZN show from Coliseo Roberto Clemente in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Bridges, 9-2 (4 KOs) – a former IBF 118lbs titlist – will face Alexis Araiza, 3-2-1 (1 KO), over 8 rounds at bantamweight, while Miller, 13-0 (6 KOs), takes on a still-to-be-determined opponent in a scheduled 6-round, 168lbs contest.
The bout will mark the MVP debut for both Bridges and Miller, on a show that also features Hall of Fame two-sport star Holly Holm, 34-2-3 (9 KOs), in a title bid against unbeaten WBA 135lbs beltholder Stephanie Han, 11-0 (3 KOs).
“With the return of Amanda Serrano and Holly Holm, and the MVP debuts of both Ebanie and Raquel Miller, plus seven additional Puerto Rican fighters joining the event, this card has grown into one of the deepest and most meaningful fight nights we’ve produced and we are proud to deliver it to Puerto Rico,” MVP co-founders Nakisa Bidarian and Jake Paul said in a joint statement. “Amanda Serrano will put on a show for her island as she leads an incredible card with 13 fights, featuring the best of women’s boxing and fifteen Puerto Rican fighters.”
Australia’s Bridges has long served as one of the sport’s most identifiable figures. The rapid rise in popularity largely stems from her viral moments from previous weigh-ins, though she has proven her skills in the ring as evidenced in her prior IBF bantamweight title reign.
The 39-year-old New South Wales-bred former titlist has not fought since a December 2023 defeat to Miyo Yoshida to end her title stay. Bridges put her career on hold as she and Kell Brook – a former IBF 147lbs titlist – welcomed their first child earlier this year.
“I’m excited to be getting back in the ring after some time out and even more excited to have my gorgeous son ringside,” said Bridges, a multi-talented figure who holds a master’s degree in education. “He’s a whole new level of motivation for me. I can’t wait to do what I do best: entertain, put on a show, and deliver an exciting fight.
“Puerto Ricans are known for their heart, pride, and aggression, and those qualities are in my fundamentals. I think they’re going to love the Blonde Bomber.”
Whereas Bridges and Holm both aim to make their way back onto the title stage, Miller hopes to pick up where her once promising career left off before her extended ring absence.
The San Francisco native was a former amateur standout who claimed a silver medal during the 2012 World Amateur Championships in Qinhuangdao, China. She narrowly missed out on the US Olympics squad for the 2012 London Games – the first year that featured women boxing in the quadrennial competition.
After falling short of making the squad for Rio 2016, Miller opted to turn professional. She has primarily fought at 154lbs and 160lbs, but has also taken bouts as high as at heavyweight.
She claimed an interim version of the WBA junior-middleweight title in 2019 but never managed to get a shot at the full crown.
Her career was cut short in 2023, when she endured a series of life challenges – including the passing of her father in 2024. She took that time to also focus on her PB (“Pretty Beast”) Brand athletic line and the local Ladies in Power non-profit she co-founded.
Nearly three years on from her past fight, she aims to make up for lost time.
The following bouts were also confirmed by MVP, rounding out the January 3 show:
