Eric Tudor, the Fort Lauderdale, Florida welterweight contender, meets Las Vegas’ Kevin Johnson in the LA Friday Night Fights main event from Thunder Studios in Long Beach, California.
Welterweight Tudor, who is 12-1 (7 KOs), meets the 12-5 (8 KOs) man known as “Thunderstorm” in the April 25 main event after the previous bill-topper, featuring light heavyweights Yair Gallardo and David Stephens, was postponed due to Gallardo getting injured in sparring.
“I am so excited to be headlining for the first time on DAZN,” said Tudor. “I have been working hard in the gym, and I am going to prove that I have what it takes to be the best. Thank you to my entire team for making this happen.”
Tudor had more than 200 amateur fights, winning numerous titles, before turning pro in February 2022. Now 23, Tudor suffered his only loss in the form of an eight-round upset decision in late 2023 to Jose Luis Sanchez. In his last fight, in November, he outscored the then 28-1 (19 KOs) Harold Calderon over 10 rounds.
In the opposite corner, Johnson, who originally comes from Detroit, has suffered defeats to Richardson Hitchins, Cristian Baez, and Kelvin Davis, but he’s also scalped several unbeaten fighters.
The card, hosted by Paco Presents and Golden Boy Promotions, includes an eight-round co-feature between undefeated junior lightweight Justin Viloria, 8-0 (6 KOs), of Whittier, California, against Los Mochis, Sinaloa, Mexico’s Alejandro Yung Wong, 12-1 (6 KOs).
Also scheduled for action that night is junior welterweight Ricardo Sonny Robledo (10-0, 3 KOs) of Mission Hills, California, taking on Dante Ettore (11-1-2, 7 KOs) of Las Vegas in an eight-round battle; also at 140lbs, Javier Meza (2-0, 2 KOs) of Amarillo, Texas, faces Buenos Aires, Argentina’s Luciano Ramos (2-9) over four rounds; bantamweight Roy Cano makes his four-round professional debut against LA’s Larry Serrano Romero (3-4-1); and Miami junior lightweight Danilo Diez (2-0) faces Venezuela’s Giovanny Gonzalez (2-6, 2 KOs) in a four-rounder.
