Next week, three-time world champion Erik "Terrible" Morales will start training again and will focus his camp at the Otomi Ceremonial Center. His next fight will take place on December 18 in Tijuana for the WBC silver junior welterweight title.
Morales stated in the Mexican press that his next fight might get packaged with Showtime's pay-per-view featuring Jean Pascal defending his WBC/IBO light heavyweight titles against Bernard Hopkins, which takes place on the same day in Canada.
Morales will make his third fight of his comeback, which began on March 27 in Monterrey, where he defeated former world champion José Alfaro, by unanimous decision in twelve rounds to win the WBC international belt at welterweight. The second fight took place on September 11 at Plaza de Toros in Mexico, where he knocked out Scotland's Willie Limond in six rounds to win the world silver welterweight title of the World Boxing Council (WBC).
"Likewise, as in my previous fights, I will arrive in perfect condition and give the people a big fight in December in Tijuana," Morales said.
Morales believes that he will get a fight with Juan Manuel Marquez in early 2011, if both of them are victors in their upcoming fights.
