After his victory in which he retained his international welterweight title of the World Boxing Council (WBC), against Willie Limond on Saturday night, Erik "El Terrible" Morales said he will look to close out the year in December with a fight in his native Tijuana.

“Limond was moving well around the ring, and he was a tough opponent. But the key to victory was that I hit him downstairs, to the body, so I could slow him down and prevent him from moving around a lot," Morales explained. "The hooks that I landed were very accurate. We worked hard with the jab, then a hook to the liver landed and I saw Limond grimace."

"I am very happy with crowd that came to the Plaza de Toros because it made it more of a pleasure for me. I'm 90% sure that my next fight will be in Tijuana."

Morales said he received a message from Golden Boy matchmaker Eric Gomez, to further discuss a possible fight with Juan Manuel Marquez down the line.

"We will start to talk about a fight against Marquez. Marquez and I have made our careers in the United States and many people would like to see that fight. But I would prefer that this fight takes place in Mexico," Morales said. "I will fight again in December in Tijuana, either on the 4th or the 11th."
