Brooklyn, New York - The face of women’s Brooklyn boxing, Heather Hardy (16-0, 4 KO’s), remained undefeated and stopped her opponent Anna Hultin (8-3, 2 KO’s) from Sweden in the 4th round. Hardy was dominant from the onset. Fueled by the home crowd Hardy dropped her opponent in the 4th round getting a stoppage at 0:48 seconds of the stanza.  It was Hardy’s 4 KO in her 16 fights. 

San Antonio’s Mario Barrios improved to 15-0 with 8 KO’s after he defeated his opponent Edgar Gabejan (26-33-6, 9 KO’s) who was sporting the Manny Pacquiao no fear flame trunks. Barrios dominated a one sided slow and ugly type of fight. Barrios delivered a strong right to his opponent from the Philippines which may have broken his nose. Though Gabajen labored through and reached the final bell of an 8 round contest.   

Brooklyn crowd favorite Earl Newman (9-0, 7 KO’s) stopped Dustin Echard 13-3, 4 KO’s) in the 4th round of their contest. Newman took a big shot in the second round from his opponent but recovered well. After, the Brooklyn’s cruiserweight pedigree showed by stopping his opponent in the 4th round. Echard took a knee and did not respond to the referee when he was asked to continue. The contest was halted at 2:30 in round 4.

If you blinked just a little you would have missed Radzhab Butaev (2-0, 2 KO’s) billed out of Brooklyn knock out TyKeem Sadler (6-2, 4 KO’s) early in the opening round. Butaev landed a big right hand that sent Sadler to the canvas and the ref ended the contest at 1:19 of the first round. Butaev gets his second knockout in his first two fights. 

The opening bout of the Spence-Algieri off television undercard saw Poland’s Lukazs Maciec (23-3-1, 5 KO’s) decision Jeremy Ramos (9-3, 4 KO’s) over eight rounds in the junior middleweight division. The action began slowly but Maciec started to control the pace of the fight in the fifth round. Maciec’s experience took over as he won a majority decision over the Texan Ramos.
