Dennis Hobson has revealed he has world title ambitions for Sheffield’s Ross Burkinshaw (13-5-2, 7KOs).
At just a few days’ notice and in a gutsy performance, Burkinshaw claimed the Commonwealth bantamweight title last month when he outpointed Jason Cunningham in a fight of the year contender.
With Burkinshaw currently slated to meet former champ Martin Ward in a first defence, Hobson isn’t ruling out a shot at world honours for Ross in 2015.
“Don’t be surprised by what Ross can achieve,” said Hobson in his regular Sheffield Star column. “Look at Martin Ward, he won the Commonwealth and I managed to get him a world title shot.
