Former two division champion Humberto "Zorrita" Soto (57-7-2, 33KOs) is going to push the WBC to give him a mandatory shot at the winner of the upcoming battle between Erik Morales and Lucas Matthysse. The Morales-Matthysse fight takes place on September 17th in Las Vegas, with the vacant WBC junior welterweight title on the line.

On Saturday night in Los Mochis, Soto made his ring debut at 140-pounds and stopped Jose Alforo in two rounds due to a bad cut suffered by the Nicuraguan boxer.

"I felt very strong at the weight [of 140-pounds]. I believe that now I'm at my ideal weight. I believe that I'm ready to win my fourth would title and I'm going to push to get a fight with the [WBC] champion," Soto said.
