The International Boxing Hall of Fame has sent thanks to the WBO for helping with a significant repair project.

The roof of the pavilion at the upstate New York venue – in the village of Canastota – needed to be fixed and Gustavo Olivieri stepped up to help. The repairs were carried out in the late fall and early winter.

“The WBO answered the Hall of Fame’s call for assistance and we are extremely grateful to president Gustavo Olivieri and former president Paco Valcarcel for their continued support,” stated Edward Brophy, the Hall of Fame’s founder. “Since the Hall of Fame opened in 1989, the WBO has been a great friend and advocate of our mission to honor the great sport of boxing.”

The International Boxing Hall of Fame hosts an annual induction weekend in June, where the greats of the sport are immortalised.

This year’s class includes Gennady Golovkin, Nigel Benn and Antonio Tarver.
