Light-middleweights Ishmael Davis and Caoimhín Agyarko will fight at Windsor Park on September 13, it was announced today.

In what is being billed as the battle of “Black Panther” and “Black Thunder”, Davis and Agyarko will provide support to the night’s main event between welterweights Lewis Crocker and Paddy Donovan.

Twenty-eight-year-old Agyarko, from Belfast, is 17-0 (7) as a pro and stepped in for Davis back in April when an injury scuppered Davis’ proposed fight with Ryan Kelly. Agyarko ultimately beat Kelly that night, doing so via 10-round majority decision, but the fight was a lot closer than he would have liked.

As for Davis, he is 13-2 (6) as a pro and hails from Leeds. Although the 30-year-old has lost his two fights, he has been mixing in good company and shown a willingness to test himself. Indeed, there is no shame in losing to either Serhii Bohachuk, who stopped him in six rounds, or Josh Kelly, who outpointed him via majority decision. Now Davis has the chance to get his career back on track by beating Agyarko in front of his home fans – all 18,500 of them.

Also set to appear on the September 13 card are Matchroom’s latest signing Molly “Meatball” McCann, best known for her exploits in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), and cruiserweight Pat Brown, one of the most exciting prospects in Britain.

In addition, Tyrone McKenna, another hometown fighter, will face a familiar foe in the shape of Dylan Moran. They collided for the first time back in December in Waterford only for the fight to end somewhat prematurely, in McKenna’s favour, in round two.
