VEJEN, Denmark – Super middleweight Jacob Bank won a unanimous decision over Damian Biacho on Saturday here at Vejen Idraetscenter in a fight in which Bank pretty much did what he wanted to do.

The problem was that Denmark’s Bank, 16-0 (8 KOs), didn´t seem like he wanted to punch, and at times he performed some kind of dance with boxing gloves on. At the same time, Spain’s Biacho, 17-1 (4 KOs), plugged away the best he could and stayed competitive on sheer work rate.

In the final round, however, Bank finally went to work and let his hands go, taking some punches but landing more of his own to win on scores of 98-92 (twice) and 100-90.

It must be said that trainer Joey Gamache will have his work cut out for him getting Bank to compete as a professional fighter and not a dancer. The talent is there, but more should be expected of Bank after five years as a pro.

Junior lightweight Ahmad El Ahmad outboxed Spain’s Hector Brea in a six-rounder. Denmark’s El Ahmad, 8-0 (2 KOs), used his superior reach and speed to do a number on Spain’s Brea, 11-2 (1 KOs), but could never hurt or even stun his opponent. As for Brea, he didn't do much at all and lost on scores of 60-54 on all cards.

Heavyweight Gustav Thorsen stopped Mourad Omar in the second round. Denmark Thorsen, 5-0 (4 KOs), landed with a right hand, which had a dramatic effect on Egypt’s Omar, 11-4 (7 KOs), who lost all balance and stumbled into his own corner, where Thorsen poured it on and referee Per K. Hansen stopped it at two minutes and 31 seconds of the round.

Female featherweight Melissa Mortensen, 4-0 (2 KOs), of Denmark, floored Alba Sanchez, 8-3 (2 KOs), from Spain, in the second round and dominated the fight all the way for a win on scores of 60-53 on all cards.

It was once again a little too easy for Danish middleweight Viktor Hoveling, now 7-0 with seven early endings, as he stopped Poland’s much smaller Liridon Alan Ozog, 5-2-1 (3 KOs), in a scheduled six-rounder. Hoveling punched, pushed and wrestled his opponent to the canvas once in the first round and twice in the second before Ozog’s corner threw in the towel.

Lightweight prospect Elias Idrissi outscored Jampier Oses over six. Venezuela’s Oses, 21-14-1 (14 KOs), looked the part but didn't punch much and allowed Denmark’s Idrissi, 8-0 (4 KOs), to control the action all the way. It was scored 60-54 (twice) and 59-55.

Featherweight Elias Faour won on points over Elias Garcia in a four rounder. Spain’s Garcia, 6-16-2 (1 KO), suffered a bad cut near his left eye and was hurt by a left in the final seconds of the fight. Denmark’s Faour, 2-0 (1 KO), won on scores of 40-36 (twice) and 39-37.

In the show opener, welterweight Mohammed Al Maliki, 3-1, outscored Rafael Hernandez, 37-27-4 (27 KOs) over six rounds. It was scored 60-54 twice and 60-53. Hernandez, a 41-year-old Spain-based Venezuelan national, started well but faded down the stretch as Sweden’s El Maliki poured it on.
