More than 50 pounds separate Jarrell Miller and Lenier Pero in their heavyweight crossroads title eliminator set for Saturday at the Fontainebleau in Las Vegas.
At Friday’s weigh-in, Miller tipped the scales at 305.0lbs, coming in 12 pounds lighter than his fight earlier this year, while Pero came in at 251.4lbs.
Miller, 27-1-2 (22 KOs), is 1-1-1 in his past three fights, dating back to December 2023. The 37-year-old Miller most recently defeated Kingsley Ibeh via split decision in January. For this camp, Miller, of North Bellmore, New York, trained in Philadelphia with “Bozy” Ennis, the father and trainer of former welterweight titleholder Jaron “Boots” Ennis.
Pero, 13-0 (8 KOs), most recently won a 10-round unanimous decision over Jordan Thompson in November. Outside of a stoppage win over unbeaten Viktor Vykhryst in 2023, the 33-year-old southpaw Pero is relatively untested as a pro. A 2016 Cuban Olympian, Pero spent his training camp for the Miller fight in Las Vegas with Bob Santos.
