After Juan Diaz's twelve round unanimous decision win over Paulie Malignaggi on Saturday night at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas, BoxingScene.com was advised that Diaz's team, namely trainer/manager Willie Savannah, would love to see Diaz in the ring with Ricky Hatton.
Hatton and Diaz are promoted by Golden Boy Promotions. Diaz struggled in the fight with Malignaggi, and Hatton dominated Malignaggi. Since suffering a two-round knockout to Manny Pacquiao back in May, Hatton has refused to give a clear answer on a possible ring return in the near future.
If Hatton makes a decision to return, Diaz would be a good comeback opponent for an interesting crossroads fight. If Diaz accepts, there would be no catch-weight, the fight would have to take place at 140-pounds.
