BELL, CALIF. --- Mike Alvarado was knocked down twice and retired on his stool after the 10th round in his last fight against Ruslan Provodnikov.
Could that fight make it easier for Juan Manuel Marquez to break him down mentally when they meet on Saturday night at The Forum on HBO.
"Alvarado is a great fighter," Marquez said at Wednesday's open workout at Azteca Boxing Club. "Alvardo lost his last fight. This is motivation for him. He wants to win and Alvarado is a strong fighter. He likes to fight. This is a dangerous fighter. Nothing is easy. Nothing. Alvarado has motivation because he wants to win. I want to win it. This is a war, because he lose his last fight and I lose my last fight. It's important because the people will see a great fight."
