Coliseum Miguel Grau, Lima, Peru - In a promotion of Sampson Boxing, and within the framework of the KO Drugs Festival of the World Boxing Association (WBA), super featherweight world champion Kina Malpartida, successfully defended her WBA title by defeating Thai challenger Sriphrae Nonqkipahuyuth by way of a TKO in the fifth round. Malpartida dominated the action until Panamanian referee Gustavo Padilla stopped the fight. Malpartida raises her record to 14-3 and 4KOs. Sriphrae drops to 11-2-1 and 4 KOs.
Also on the show, Peruvian Maicelo Jonathan (16-0, 9KOs), won by unanimous decision over nine rounds, against Ecuadorian contender Fernando Angulo (24-9) to capture the vacant WBA lightweight Fedecentro title.
