Heavyweight prospect Lenier Pero will take on Jordan Thompson at Caribe Royale in Orlando, Florida, on Saturday, November 1, according to a Matchroom Boxing press release.

Pero-Thompson will headline a DAZN broadcast.

Pero, 12-0 (8 KOs), won a 10-round decision over Detrailious Webster in his last fight, in April at the same location. The 32-year-old Cuban, who competed in the 2016 Olympics, is ranked No. 3 by the WBA.

“I’m going to show why I’m undefeated – and why I’m destined to become the first Cuban heavyweight champion of the world,” Pero said.

Thompson, 15-1 (12 KOs), is a former cruiserweight making his heavyweight debut following his September 2023 stoppage loss to Jai Opetaia. He is returning after 25 months away from the ring.

“I’m very grateful for the opportunity and you are going to see my best as a heavyweight. I’ll be ready for whatever the night and occasion brings,” Thompson said.

The 22-year-old Jones, 3-0 (3 KOs), will fight in his hometown for the first time since his pro debut. His opponent is yet to be announced, but he’s confident all the same:

“It’s time to put on a great performance and put the city on my back – AGAIN!” he said.
