Sean Reed at the scales
Dallas, TX - The final pre-fight touch has been added for the professional debut of 2008 United States Olympian and hometown favorite Luis "Latin Legend" Yanez.
All that's left that's left to do now is duke it out.
Yanez and his opponent, Julio Cesar Valadez (3-2), officially hit the scales Thursday evening in the lobby of American Airlines Center.
The weigh-in results of the main event and the undercard are as follows:
Luis Yanez - 115 1/2
Julio Cesar Valadez - 115
Hector Beltran - 139 1/2
Gilbert Salinas - 139 1/4
Jesse Lara - 149
Bobby Valdez - 153 1/2
Anthony Smith - 138
Milton Ramos - 136 1/2
Jabar Hurd - 122 1/2
Sammy Sanchez - 121 1/2
It took Valadez three tries to get under the contracted weight of 116, which Yanez made effortlessly. Valadez was one-half pound over on the first try, before ending the day a full pound under the limit.
In stark contrast, The "Latin Legend", a former 106 lb Olympian, ate a Subway sandwich, drank water and sipped on cranberry juice in the hours leading up to the weigh-in.
Among those in attendance were: former two weight world champion Paulie Ayala; one of his former cornermen, Paul Reyes; Juan Lopez; "Big Sugar" Ray Phillips; former amatuer standout, Charles "The Bodysnatcher" Hatley; and 2009 Silver Gloves champion, Ray Ximenez.
The Yanez-Valadez airs live regionally on FoxSports Southwest (9PM CT).
