Before a crowd of 45,000, Pacquiao defends his WBO welterweight title against Clottey at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas. On the televised pay-per-view undercard, Alfonso Gomez of Contender fame meets former champion Jose Luis Castillo, Humberto Soto and David Diaz clash for the vacant WBC lightweight title and middleweight contender John Duddy takes on Michael Medina.

The untelevised card results;

Eden Sonsona (19-5, 6 KOs) of General Santos, Philippines Maurcio Pastrana (35-13-2, 24 KOs) of Monteria, Colombia by TKO at 1:33 of the 8th round.

Good test for the southpaw from Philippines.  Pastrana down in the 3rd round from a straight left. In the final round, a short right hook puts Pastrana down and when he gets up, Sonsona finishes him with the same punch, with Pastrana out cold on his back for a short while.

Featherweights - 8 rounds

Michael Farenas (26-2-3, 23 KOs) of Gubat, Philippines versus Joe Morales (20-13, 4 KOs) of San Antonio, TX was ruled a No Decision after the doctor recommended stopping the bout after a cut caused by an accidental clash of heads.

Featherweights - 8 rounds

Salvador Sanchez (19-3-2, 9 KOs) of Tianguistenco, Mexico over Jaime Villa (8-8-2, 3 KOs) of Midland, TX by TKO at 1:09 of the 6th round.  Sanchez scored a knockdown in the 5th round.  He then opened the 6th with another knockdown, and Villa rose to continue but was quickly dropped again and he remained on one knee for the full ten count.

Super Bantamweights - 6 rounds

Roberto Marroquin (13-0, 10 KOs) of Dallas, TX over Samuel Sanchez (4-2-1) of Dallas, TX by TKO at 1:36 of the 2nd round.

Marroquin scored a knock down in the 1st round, but Sanchez rose and gamely continued.  Early in the 2nd round, Marroquin crushed Sanchez with two right crosses and after Sanchez went down, he tried to arise but was unable to gain his bearings and referee Kenny Bayless halted the bout.

Super Welterweights - 4 rounds

Rodrigo Garcia (6-0, 5 KOs) of Santa Ana, CA over Calvin Pitts (5-12-1, 1 KO) of Prairie View, TX by TKO at 2:21 of the 2nd round.

Pitts down in the 2nd and then with Garcia teeing off, referee Robert Chapa halts the bout after a 2nd knockdown.

Featherweights – 4 rounds

Arthur Trevino (5-3-3, 2 KOs) of Fort Worth, TX and Isaac Hidalgo (6-5-2, 1 KO) of Tuscon, AZ fought to a Draw with judges’ scores of 40-36 for Hidalgo, 38-38 & 38-38.
