Former WBC heavyweight Oleg Maskaev (36-7, 27KOs) could return on December 17th in Moscow, according to well known Russian promoter Vladimir Hyrunov. Maskaev, inactive for over three years, would be part of the card that features WBA cruiserweight champion Denis Lebedev fighting Colombian Santander Silgado.

If Maskaev is finalized, there are two possible opponents - former champion Samuel Peter (34-5, 27KOs), who knocked out Maskaev in six rounds in 2008, and the other option is Monte Barrett (35-10-2, 20KOs).

Maskaev is still being touted to fight on a December 30th card, also in Russia.

"We are negotiating with Dennis Rappaport, the manager Oleg Maskaev. We are discussing a possible fight between Maskaev and Sam Peter or Monte Barrett in Moscow," Hyrunov said.
