Former cruiserweight king Jean Marc Mormeck (36-4, 22 KOs) is confident that he can provide IBF/IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (56-3, 49 KOs) with a formidable challenge on December 17th at the Esprit Arena in Dusseldorf, Germany. Mormeck is coming off a stretch of inactivity, and he doesn't have the size or the power of a heavyweight. Some experts are calling the fight a dangerous mismatch, but Mormeck feels there are openings that he can exploit.
"I commentated on some of his televised fights. I was a foot away from the ring. As a boxer, I saw openings, but the opponents did not play their hand. I thought, 'it's crazy, why don't they exploit that?' So I decided to try my luck and I believe that I can win. The Klitschko brothers are not unbeatable, both of them have already been beaten," Mormeck said.
[The comment on Klitschko's jaw] was a bit of humor. There is no lack of respect. Wladimir Klitschko is an intelligent person. At one point, we will fight and end it with respect, but in reality his jaw is more glass than iron."
