Argentine star Omar "The Hurricane" Narvaez (39-1-2, 20KOs), currently the world champion at super flyweight (115 pounds) under the World Boxing Organization (WBO), says there are no immediate plans to move up to the bantamweight division. But he also left the door open for the right fight.
"At the moment I have no problems making the weight [limit of 115-pounds]. I feel good. Of course, if there is a [good] opportunity at 118 pounds - of course I'll take it," said Narvaez.
A few days ago, Narvaez said he was considering a future move to the bantamweight division to challenge Panama's Anselmo 'Chemito' Moreno (33-2-1, 12KOs), holder of the WBA's "super" title at 118-pounds.
Narvaez previously made a move to the bantamweight division in 2011, when he suffered his first career loss by way of a twelve round decison to then WBO/WBC champion Nonito Donaire in New York City.
Narvaez returns on August 24th, when he defends his title against Hiroyuki Hisataka in Argentina, while Chemito is back on August 10th against William Urina in Panama City.
