Featherweight Omar Trinidad made the championship weight ahead of his fight Friday night at the Chumash Casino in Santa Ynez, California.
Trinidad of Los Angeles tipped the scales at 126lbs. Lorenzo Parra of Machiques, Venezuela, came in under the championship weight limit at 124.8lbs.
Trinidad, 19-0-1 (13 KOs), enters the bout ranked in the top 10 of all four major sanctioning bodies and, most notably, is no. 2 in the IBF ratings. Trinidad is coming off a May unanimous decision over Alexander Espinoza. Trinidad, 29, has seen his last three fights go to decision, which is the longest period in his career he has gone without a knockout.
Parra, 23-1 (17 KOs), will fight for the second time in the United States. Parra won a split decision over Javon Woodard Jnr in 2023 in the U.S., which also served as his previous bout. Parra is on a nine-fight win streak since a 2017 unanimous decision loss to Yonfrez Parejo.
In the co-feature, Mizuki Hiruta of Tokyo, Japan, came in at 114.8lbs ahead of her fifth title defense of her WBO women’s junior bantamweight title. Naomy Cardenas-Gomez of Chihuahua, Mexico, came in at 115.8lbs, which was over the championship limit of 115lbs, making her ineligible to win the title.
Hiruta, 8-0 (2 KOs), who trains in Los Angeles with Manny Robles and Edgar Jasso, will be fighting in the United States for the third time in 2025. Hiruta, 29, defeated Carla Merino in May via a unanimous decision in her last fight.
The 26-year-old Gomez, 9-0 (2 KOs), is coming off the biggest win of her career as she upset undefeated Bree Howling in June.
The card will stream on UFC Fight Pass.
