FIRENZE, Italy – Sweden’s Pezhman Seifkhani outscored Italy’s Eduardo Giustini here at Palazzo Wanny on Wednesday in a heavyweight headliner.

Giustini, 17-4 (6 KOs), was on the canvas in the ninth and 11th rounds, and lost on scores of 117-110 and 117-109 (twice).

A southpaw, Giustini boxed well along the ropes, but it was his bigger and stronger Seifkhani, 17-1 (12 KOs), who dominated the fight. Giustini came on strong in the later rounds but was caught by counters and went down twice. He got back to his feet both times and had the better of most exchanges, but it wasn't enough.

It was a big win for Seifkhani, and the minor belt he secured in victory will earn him at least a No. 4 rating with the European Boxing Union (EBU). From there, it might be up and away.
