Alex Saucedo and Clarence Booth both made weight for perhaps the most intriguing UniMas-televised headliner in years, with their bout taking place Saturday evening at the Sportsman Lounge in Studio City, California.

The unbeaten Saucedo weighed in at 141.6 lbs., while Booth tipped the scales at a fighting ready 142.1 lbs. Their eight-round main event comes with little more than bragging rights at stake – no belts or a promise of a title shot.

Saucedo (20-0, 14KOs) is coming off of a four-win campaign in 2015, including a six-round decision over Angel Martinez last October in Omaha, Nebraska. The 21-year old from Oklahoma City rotates back and forth between super lightweight and welterweight, agreeing to a slightly lower weight than normal for the sake of proving his worth to begin a 2016 run he hopes will lead to contender status.

Booth (13-1, 7KOs) has won 11 straight contests, including four in a row since signing with Top Rank roughly around this time a year ago. The former amateur standout from St. Petersburg, Florida was last seen on UniMas in his most recent performance, an eight-round decision win over Luis Joel Gonzalez last Halloween.

In the evening’s chief support, unbeaten Andy Vences takes on Yardley Suarez in a scheduled eight-round super featherweight contest. Vences (14-0, 10KOs) hails from San Jose in California’s Bay Area, where the majority of his young career has taken place to date. Saturday’s bout marks his firt pro appearance in the SoCal area.

Also on the show, unbeaten prospects Egidijus Kavaliauskas and Oleksandr Gvozdyk appear in separate bouts where wins by each will land undercard slots for the April 9 rubber match between Manny Pacquiao and Timothy Bradley.

Kavaliauskas (11-0, 10KOs) –a two-time Olympian for his native Lithuania who now fights out of Oxnard, Calif. – faces comebacking veteran Prenice Brewer (17-3-1, 6KOs), who has been out of the ring since May ’14. Their welterweight bout is scheduled for eight rounds.

Gvozdyk (8-0, 6KOs) – a 2012 Olympic Bronze medalist from Ukraine who also fights out of Oxnard – faces Mike Snider (9-2-3) in an eight-round light heavyweight bout. A win by the unbeaten Ukrainian will lead to his first scheduled 10-round bout, due to come April 9 versus former light heavyweight title challenger Nadjib Mohammedi.
