Promoter Kalle Sauerland of Sauerland Event, recently gave his thoughts to Haruka Gruberu on the failed negotiations for heavyweight unification between WBO/IBO/IBF champion Wladimir Klitschko and WBA king David Haye. He also discussed the role of Alexander Povetkin in the heavyweight division.

Regarding The Klitschkos Fighting The Best - "They earn good money, going against opponents who do not pose any danger to them. Klitschko's manager Bernd Boente criticized the level of the Super Six tournament, but he more readily follows the path of least resistance, so I was not surprised that he did not like this tournament. For Klitschko, he would not consider a tournament like this, to go against the strongest opponents over and over again - something that has never have occurred with them. Not accidentally, American TV channels HBO and Showtime have both completely erased the Klitschkos from their programs. Arthur [Abraham] is different. Even though he lost, his next fight in the tournament, on Showtime, will include millions of viewers."

"With regard to Klitschko-Haye, everything is clear: the parties agreed to even the smallest detail. Then it became known that Wladimir is going to fight with Dereck Chisora. Is it possible to believe that Haye will spend 7 months to prepare for a fight without knowing if it will actually take place? Wladimir has always made a break of 5-6 months between fights, and now he's going to go twice in 9 weeks? In this respect, no one would believe it. In any case, it clearly shows how weak of an opponent Klitschko believes Chisora is. Apparently, they count on a very simple win, once they drop behind that opponent. They imagine themselves to be participants in a concert tour. Already they are planning to do fights with Haye and Adamek - before entering the ring with Chisora and Solis. This fact shows with terrifying clarity the relationship the Klitschkos have with their opponents.

Regarding Alexander Povetkin - "For Alexander, this year will be interesting. He now occupies the second place ranking in the WBA and the third place in the WBO. With victory over Eddie Chambers, Chris Byrd and Larry Donald, he proved that he belongs with the world's elite. Now he is ready to attack.

"As you know, I'm angry that Alexander replaced his old coach with Teddy Atlas, but it's his decision. In addition, last year after Alexander's father passed away, he was in a poor state of mind. For him it was like the end of the world. But now all is well, and Alexander is ready to challenge the biggest names.
