Tamm Thibeault has yet to need more than five rounds to collect wins in all four career starts.

Just for good measure, she will have twice that amount to work with for her next outing.

BoxingScene has confirmed that the two-time Olympian for Canada will face Brazil’s Nadja Jesus Santos in a scheduled 10-round middleweight contest on April 17 at Madison Square Garden’s Infosys Theater in New York City. The bout will come in supporting capacity to the four-fight ESPN lineup for Most Valuable Promotions’ MVPW-02 event.

Opening the lineal telecast, bantamweight prospect Krystal Rosado, 5-0 (3 KOs) will face Fernanda Reyes, 8-0 (0 KOs) in an eight-round bout. Both bouts are accompanied by the already announced pair of championship fights – unified 130lbs queen Alycia Baumgardner, 17- 1 (7 KOs) versus Bo Mi Re Shin, 19-3-3 (10 KOs) in a contest scheduled for 10, 3-minute rounds; and unified 168lbs titlist Shadasia Green, 16-1 (11 KOs) versus Lani Daniels, 11-4-2 (1 KO).

“MVPW was created to give the best women in boxing the same platform, spotlight, and opportunity as male counterparts in the sport, and this card shows exactly what that looks like,” MVP co-founders Jake Paul and Nakisa Bidarian told BoxingScene in a provided statement. “We’re proud to have women leading the charge with MVPW. This is what true equality in the sport looks like.

“For years, women fought on the undercards of men’s events, and now the roles can be reversed, with the best female fighters headlining, supported by incredible male talent on the undercard. MVPW-02 highlights the incredible depth of talent in women’s boxing today and bringing this event to New York at Madison Square Garden and delivering it live on ESPN is another major step in establishing MVPW as the global home for women’s boxing.”

Thibeault has blitzed straight through the prospect stage and is already among the top middleweights in the world, all in a short span since her December 2024 debut. Ironically, her first pro fight is the only one to go the distance, having racked up three consecutive knockouts in a productive 2025 campaign to immediately establish herself as a contender.

The multilingual college graduate – who holds a master’s degree in urban design and urban planning – is coming off her quickest outing to date. Thibeault tore through unbeaten Cristina Mazzotta in just 56 seconds last September 27 in Montreal. She now returns to New York City, which housed her deepest outing to date – a 5th round knockout of Mary Casamassa, who was also unbeaten at the time of their July 11 clash at MSG. The bout was part of the historic Katie Taylor-Amanda Serrano III Netflix event, with more history to be made in April.

“I’m proud to be part of the first all-women’s main card on ESPN,” said Thibeault. “ESPN and MVP are making a statement by putting women’s boxing at the forefront, and on Friday, April 17, I’ll be ready to show my talent, my elegance, and exactly why I belong on this stage.”

Brazil’s Santos brings a rich amateur background, including two tours as the national champion. Her blend of speed and slickness figures to provide Thibeault with the test she’s long sought.

That said, Santos didn’t go through extraordinary efforts in securing a work visa just to settle for second best.

“Fighting in New York, at a major MVP event, is proof that all the work, sacrifice, and dedication are paying off,” said Santos. “Facing Tamm Thibeault will be a big challenge, but I am prepared and motivated to show my progress inside the ring. Representing my team, my country, and all the people who believe in me gives me even more strength.

“I will step into that ring with a lot of determination, heart, and desire to win. It is a huge opportunity, and I am ready to seize it.”

Six fights grace the preliminary undercard:
