Trainer Kostya Tszyu and manager Vladmir Hyrunov - the team behind WBA "regular" heavyweight champion Alexander Povetkin and WBA cruiserweight champ Denis Lebedev -  are backing the World Boxing Association against the recent allegations of corruption by promoter Ahmet Oner of Arena Box.

Oner claims that he was involved in a transaction that paid the WBA 250,000 Euros for Felix Sturm to obtain the WBA's "super champion" version of the middleweight crown - which in turn prevented a mandatory fight with Gennady Golovkin.

"I do not want to hear about such nonsense," Tszyu stated.

For his part, Hryunov said Oner was "a very strange and emotional person. Maybe he made the statement in desperation. I do not know his current financial situation. I agree that unknown sanctioning organizations are issuing titles for money. But not a well-known organization like the WBA. It seems that their lawyers will now deal with this issue. I know that the WBA plans to protect their honor and dignity
