In recent months Nakornloung Boxing Promotion has thrown some of Thailand’s top fighters in the ring together.
That theme continues on June 23rd when Kompayak Por Pramuk rematches Pongsaklek Sithdabnij and Rakniran Muadransarakam faces Petchbarngborn Kokietgym in Bangkok.
Kompayak (59-5) is a former WBC 108lbs champion and Pongsaklek 15-5-1) is ten years his junior. But the veteran scored a split decision win over the younger man in a thrilling fight at Workpoint Studios earlier this year, with an 11th round knockdown ultimately deciding the outcome.
The rematch will take place in the same venue and be broadcast live on Saturday afternoon (local time). The WBC Asia 108lbs title which Kompayak claimed from Pongsaklek in the first fight will also be on the line and fans in Bangkok will be hoping these two can carry on where they left off last time.
Also on the card is a bantamweight bout between two fighters at very different stages of their careers. The once beaten Rakniran Muadransarakam (13-1) will be looking to claim a major scalp when he faces experienced compatriot Petchbarngborn Kokietgym (43-8-1).
¬¬Petchbarngborn has won five in a row since being stopped by Naoye Inoue in the tenth round of a 115lbs world title fight in 2016. He will be moving up a division to face Rakniran, who is undefeated on home soil but has frequently been matched with debutants.
