Tyson Fury will fight again before taking on Anthony Joshua later in the year, Frank Warren confirmed again today, but it will not take place on the same Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, bill that will stage Joshua's own interim bout against Kristian Prenga on July 25.

The plan remains for Fury, 35-2-1 (24 KOs), and Joshua, 29-4 (26 KOs), to at last come together in November - "hopefully in the UK," Warren told Sky Sports - but the rumors suggesting the pair will warm up on the same card have been quashed by the Hall of Fame promoter.

"That's not happening," Warren said. His promotional company, Queensberry Promotions, is believed to still be embroiled in a legal battle with Sela and TKO, two companies with close ties to Turki Alalshikh.

Fury, and Alalshikh, had initially hoped to persuade Joshua to agree to a late-summer showdown. However, Joshua was involved in a tragic car accident that took the lives of two of his closest friends in December, just days after beating Jake Paul. He was adamant he would take a warm-up fight before tackling Fury.

Fury, who defeated Arslanbek Makhmudov in April to end his latest hiatus, is now keen to ensure that he gets a chance to ensure his own weaponry sharp, too.

"He [Fury] wants another fight, he doesn't want to be waiting, otherwise he'll be out of the ring for nearly eight months again and he doesn't want that," said Warren.

"He wants to keep busy and we'll see what happens in the next few weeks."
