Christy Martin will return to Canastota, New York this summer, but not just to sign autographs at the Hall of Fame.
Martin’s Christy Martin Promotions will host this year’s International Boxing Hall of Fame induction weekend fight card on Friday, June 12, when when undefeated featherweight Victor Hernandez, 15-0 (13 KOs), meets Vic Pasillas, 18-1 (11 KOs), in the ten-round main event.
The fight card will take place at the Turning Stone Resort Casino’s Event Center in Verona, New York, with Sugar Ray Leonard and members of the 1976 U.S. Olympic boxing team at ringside.
Hernandez, 32, of Golden Meadow, Louisiana will be facing his most experienced opponent to date. He last fought last August, stopping Jayvon Garnett in ten rounds on a card in Tennessee, and is rated no. 12 by the WBA at 126lbs. Pasillas, 34, of Redwood City, California has been less active in recent years, having won two straight against respectable opposition since a 2021 stoppage loss to Ra’eese Aleem for the WBA interim title at 122lbs, which was his only defeat. The NABA and USWBC regional titles will be on the line.
In the co-featured bout, Zachary Randolph, 13-4-1 (5 KOs), of Fairmont, West Virginia will face Kenmon Evans, 14-4-1 (7 KOs), of New Smyrna Beach, Florida in a cruiserweight fight. Evans, 34, has won four straight against limited opposition following a rough patch where he lost four straight from 2023 to 2025, while Randolph, 32, is likewise seeking his highest profile victory to date.
