The future officially looks brighter for Golden Boy Promotions and DAZN.

Both entities have confirmed a multi-year extension, ensuring that Golden Boy will remain with the platform it has called home since late 2018. Full details were not disclosed with Tuesday’s announcement, other than that DAZN continues to solidify its already loaded roster and Golden Boy now has the peace of mind that was sorely lacking for much of 2026 to this point.

“We’re firing on all cylinders right now,” said Golden Boy co-founder and chairman Oscar De La Hoya. “No one builds champions like we do. It’s a special formula mixed with a fighter’s talent, discipline and star power.

“As we approach a decade with DAZN, we’re going to keep setting the tone for the sport in 2026 and shaping the future of boxing.”

Golden Boy first joined DAZN in December 2018, upon HBO’s exit from the sport. The union hit a sore spot when the California-headquartered outfit eventually parted ways with Saul “Canelo” Alvarez” in late 2020. While Golden Boy has remained exclusive to the over-the-top (OTT) platform, it has come in the form of several extensions, two-to-three years at a time.

The previous deal expired at the end of 2025, a development which prompted Vergil Ortiz Jnr and his team to attempt to sue their way out of the boxer’s current promotional deal.

The matter will now head to arbitration, though the ongoing case sparked at least one key development. DAZN COO Ed McCarthy stated on record that talks were ongoing with Golden Boy and that Ortiz’s promotional status with the company was not crucial to finalizing terms.

On that front, the brass behind the streaming service kept their word.

“We’re delighted to extend our partnership with Golden Boy,” said Pete Oliver, CEO Global Sports, DAZN.  “Oscar and the team consistently deliver world-class events and develop some of the most exciting talent in boxing.

“This renewed agreement strengthens our shared commitment to growing the sport globally and giving fans unmatched access to unforgettable fight nights. We’re excited for what comes next.”

Golden Boy’s extension comes on the heels of Top Rank rolling into the DAZN fold, per an official announcement one week ago. Both signings add to a lineup that includes content from Matchroom Boxing, Queensberry Promotions, Riyadh Season, Eye of the Tiger Management, and Salita Promotions among many other global companies.

Furthermore, Golden Boy can resume shaping up its 2026 calendar. Just two fights are on the books thus far – DAZN-streamed shows on January 16 and March 14, which were both presented as one-off arrangements in their continued relationship. Golden Boy was also intimately involved in the February 21 Ryan Garcia-Mario Barrios DAZN pay-per-view presented by Turki Alalshikh and Ring Magazine.

In prior years, Golden Boy offered no fewer than 10 premium shows along with its Golden Boy Fight Night on DAZN prospect series. The new multi-year extension figures to allow the group to return at or close to that pace.

A positive sign that Golden Boy and DAZN would move forward together came with confirmation that the OTT platform would be involved in the already announced Gilberto “Zurdo” Ramirez-David Benavidez clash set for May 2 in Las Vegas.

The cruiserweight title fight was previously confirmed to headline a PBC on Prime Video pay-per-view event. DAZN confirmed earlier this month that it would also carry and distribute the pre-Cinco de Mayo affair.

By that point, Golden Boy brass believed a deal was near the finish line. That belief has now become a written fact.
