The multi-year broadcast deal between Top Rank and DAZN, first reported by BoxingScene on Monday, was today officially confirmed.
As well as being Top Rank’s broadcaster for their live events, DAZN will also provide subscribers to the streaming platform access to the promotional giant’s extensive archive which stretches back six decades and includes action from fighters like Muhammad Ali, Sugar Ray Leonard, Marvin Hagler, Oscar De La Hoya, Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao.
Top Rank’s current roster isn’t bad, either. It includes Keyshawn Davis, Xander Zayas, Abdullah Mason, Emanuel Navarrete, Raymond Muratella, O’Shaquie Foster and Bruce Carrington; all of whom will be showcased prominently on DAZN.
“Since the day I started Top Rank 60 years ago our focus has been simple,” stated 94-year-old Bob Arum, the Top Rank chairman. “Sign the best fighters, develop them into champions and make the best fights possible. DAZN’s position as the global home of boxing makes this a natural partnership and I’m confident it will be tremendously beneficial for fighters, fans, and the future of the sport.”
The future of Top Rank had been uncertain when they left previous broadcast partner, ESPN, last year. Matchroom and Queensberry in the UK are two other huge promotional groups on the books of DAZN, with Golden Boy Promotions also a regular fixture on the streaming channel.
