Most Valuable Promotions’ debut broadcasts on ESPN and Sky Sports will feature a familiar female voice on blow-by-blow commentary and some ringside veterans as well.
Crystina Poncher, who featured prominently on Top Rank broadcasts and most recently on ProBox TV, will assume lead commentator duties for MVPW, the women’s boxing shows which Most Valuable Promotions will debut this Sunday with the Caroline Dubois-Terri Harper unification bout at Olympia in London, England. Joining Poncher on the initial broadcast will be Mikaela Mayer, the unified women’s junior middleweight champion who recently announced her promotional deal with the Jake Paul-led company. The broadcast, which will air live on ESPN+ in the United States and Sky Sports in the United Kingdom, will be rounded out by in-ring announcer Tuukka Koistinen.
MVP’s first show in the U.S., on April 17 at The Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City, will feature their full cast of commentators. That show, which is headlined by the unified junior lightweight championship fight between Alycia Baumgardner and Bo Mi Re Shin, will see Poncher joined by former junior middleweight champion Raul Marquez on color commentary, while Corey Erdman will serve as analyst. Ringside reporter Ariel Helwani, rules and scoring expert Sean Wheelock and in-ring announcer Kody “Big Mo” Mommaerts will round out the team.
“Crystina Poncher’s experience on the biggest stages, including years at ESPN, and her ability to bring clarity, energy, and storytelling to every fight make her the perfect voice to lead this platform,” said Paul and Nakisa Bidarian, co-founders of MVP, in a joint statement.
“Surrounding her is a world-class team of champions, analysts, and trusted voices across the sport, ensuring MVPW delivers a premium broadcast experience that reflects the elite level of talent in the ring and sets a new global standard for women’s boxing.”
