Russian super middleweight contender Pavel Silyagin, 15-0-1 (7 KOs), meets undefeated Argentinian Pablo "Pacman" Corzo, 23-0 (20 KOs), on July 5 in Ekaterinburg, Russia, on a show promoted by German Titov's RCC Boxing Promotions.
The WBA’s ‘gold’ title will be the prize for the winner with Corzo ranked No. 10 by the sanctioning body and Silygain currently two places below.
Silygain was in action last week, defeating Carlos Gongora in Belarus, yet with that falling under the IBA banner, and therefore not widely recognized, that result comes with an asterisk and does not appear on his official record.
Further Russian contenders appearing on the July 5 bill include junior middleweight Magomed Kurbanov, 26-1 (14 KOs), junior welterweight Khariton Agrba, 15-0 (9 KOs), and heavyweight/bridgerweight Evgeny Romanov, 19-1 (12 KOs).
