Heavyweight Tyson Fury won a 12-round unanimous decision over Arslanbek Makhmudov on Saturday at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, England.

Fury, now 35-2-1 (24 KOs), ended a 16-month hiatus in the process. The 37-year-old from Morecambe, Lancashire, England, retired in January 2025 after losing consecutive bouts to Oleksandr Usyk in 2024.

So what could be next for Fury?

5. Bakhodir Jalolov

Record: 16-0 (14 KOs)

Chances of happening: 1 percent

Level of excitement: 6/10

Jalolov is a two-time Olympic gold medalist. He looks the part of a top contender but has yet to step up in competition. It might be a pipe dream, but seeing the 6-foot-7 Jalolov face the 6-foot-9 Fury would be a fascinating fight.

4. Moses Itauma

Record: 14-0 (12 KOs)

Chances of happening: 5 percent

Level of excitement: 9/10

Itauma has aced every test given to him so far. He stopped Jermaine Franklin last month, something no one had done before. It would be a battle of a British legend, Fury, versus Itauma, who is not only potentially the new face of British boxing, but heavyweight boxing as a whole.

3. Fabio Wardley vs. Daniel Dubois winner

Record: Wardley is 20-0-1 (19 KOs); Dubois is 22-3 (21 KOs)

Chances of happening: 25 percent

Level of excitement: 7/10

The winner of a May 9 bout between WBO titleholder Wardley and Dubois would set the stage for a compelling title bout for Fury. If Fury would like to regain a title and then target a third fight with Usyk, then this would be the best path.

2. Agit Kabayel

Record: 27-0 (19 KOs)

Chances of happening: 25 percent

Level of excitement: 8/10

Kabayel is one of the best heavyweights, but he is struggling to get a meaningful fight. Currently, Kabayel holds the interim WBC title. A bout between Fury and Kabayel would answer questions about both fighters. Does Fury still have it, and is Kabayel elite enough to beat a potential Hall of Fame boxer?

1. Anthony Joshua

Record: 29-4 (26 KOs)

Chances of happening: 75 percent

Level of excitement: 9/10

A super-fight desired since the last decade, pitting two of the top names and former titleholders against each other. It is the biggest fight for a returning Fury to take, and for Joshua, it would be yet another big name to add to his resume. It fits the bill, likely landing on Netflix as a spectacle fight. Fury called out Joshua after his win. Will they finally be able to make a deal?
