While Tyson Fury was front and center to announce his return to the ring, it was his father, John Fury, who captured many of the online headlines post-press conference.

Even before Tyson Fury and his April 11 opponent Arslanbek Makhmudov had begun talking to the media, John Fury had stood from his seat at Tyson’s right hand to make way for influential manager Spencer Brown.

That was not all, however.

Carl Froch, the former two-time super middleweight titleholder and now host of the Froch on Fighting YouTube channel was on hand, in a work capacity for Netflix.

The streaming giant will broadcast Fury-Makhmudov from London’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and Froch was on their panel along with presenter Anna Woolhouse and former heavyweight king Lennox Lewis.

Fury took exception to comments the outspoken Froch made on his channel, and called the Hall of Famer down for a fight.

Fury made his presence felt for several minutes, while being captured by dozens of YouTubers, as he barked his challenges at Froch.

John Fury, a former professional heavyweight, later told SecondsOut: “He [Froch]’s making videos about me night and day, him and his boyfriend Joe Egan [a former heavyweight who has recently been calling for a fight with Fury and who made his name sparring a prime Mike Tsyon in the 1980s]. I could beat the pair of them on a bad day. Look here, run like a bitch.

“They talk about John Fury left, right and center, but when I’m here, growling, ready to rock and roll, they don’t give a fuck about fighting. That’s my domain, and they know that. I’m an American pit bull terrier and what are they? Labradors… Outside, I’m animal. People that know me or who did know me who can say, ‘He can fight’ are all dead and gone. I’m from the old school, I’m from the ’70s, ’80s and ’90s, when men was men. We didn’t talk down YouTubes. Men didn’t make videos. We fought. You think some 12 stone [168lbs where Froch fought] man can beat me?”
